8th Legislative District, Pos. 2 (D)

I have your back.

school safety

Christopher Tracy will improve school safety through legislation and funding that provides for more security for our schools, ongoing intruder training for school staff and additional counseling and social worker staffing for early interventions. School safety is a top priority.

Reduce Tuition costs

Tracy is determined to dramatically reduce tuition for public technical colleges, community colleges and universities. Tuition costs should not prevent students from attending college or force students or their parents to take on large student loan debt. Washington residents should get priority admission, over out of state applicants.

Tracy will treat the state budget like he and his wife do their family budget; they carefully analyze all expenditures and get the most value for the buck. Tracy has experience helping to manage large scale budgets, having been a member of the Northshore School District’s Health Benefits Committee for 25 years, and committee tasks included overseeing the multi-million dollar self-insured medical program budget. As a table team bargainer for teachers for 20 years, he has a history of negotiating complex agreements that will be helpful in negotiating the state’s budget. He’ll avoid extended special legislative sessions and promises not to request per-diem for any special sessions.

Chris has a proven track record of working with others and finding win/win situations. He has always been able to find common ground and innovative solutions, even in difficult and contentious situations.
— Tim Gordon, Retired Principal Kenmore Junior High, Northshore School District
A critical job for a school board member is to set bargaining parameters. In my 16 years of service Chris Tracy was a stalwart for the teachers union. Chris came to the table well educated with an understanding of both sides of the issue. He was especially knowledgeable in the area of healthcare and his common sense approach made him a trusted voice.
— BZ Davis, Past president of the Northshore School Board
